After a couple of months of searching for the right boat, we found her last week, lying in Dartmouth.
After a long journey from Southampton on a school holiday Friday (caravans everywhere), we arrived on the River Dart to be greeted by Robert, the vendor. He motored us out to the mooring and there she was….. JEZEBEL!!!!!
Not sure about the name at this point, but it may be appropriate, in more ways than one! Will have to think about it a bit…..
She is rather gorgeous though. An American boat. The Yanks seem to like their space and this has plenty. Not dark and dingy like some boats we viewed, but bright, light, airy and BIG! Just right for living on.
We put in an offer. Lower than the asking price. It was accepted.
WE’VE ONLY GONE AND BOUGHT A YACHT!
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
